Education & Industry Involvement
After earning his degree in finance from Georgia Southern University with an emphasis in personal financial planning, Donnie went to work immediately as a Financial Advisor, beginning his career in 2005. While helping clients, he furthered his education by obtaining the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Chartered Retirement Planning Specialist™, Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor designations. His entrepreneurial spirit has led him to own several businesses and real estate ventures, which have further helped him serve his clients.
Personal Life
Donnie gives his all to everything he does and is passionate about continuously learning. When he’s not outdoors shooting sporting clays or spending time with his Boxer, Maximus, you can find him working with kids from troubled homes at Hillside, or leading his church men’s group. Donnie lives in Brookhaven, Georgia, and as an avid traveler, he has visited over 20 countries. Matera, Italy, with its old and authentic atmosphere, has ranked as one of top places to visit and he can provide you with the top places for Gelato in almost every Italian city.
Fun Facts
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was very young. My family always had a few pets growing up, and I remember how sad it was when they became sick or passed away. I thought that being a veterinarian would be a good way to help others by helping to heal their pets.
What fictional character would you choose to spend the day with and why?
Fred and George Weasley. All the pranks and jokes they play—they’re constantly laughing and having fun, which is a reminder to not take life too seriously and to enjoy the time we have.
What is one thing every person should add to their daily routine?
Five to ten minutes of quiet time, whether it’s in prayer, meditation, or silence. You do that in the morning, and it typically starts your whole day in a different light.
